Tulbaghia coddii
Syn. T. poetica. [R.B. Burbidge. 1978]
Endemic to the Northern Transvaal where it can be found growing in acid bogs or wet turf this relative of Tulbaghia natalensis really is a little gem, forming tufted clumps of bright-green filiform foliage with small highly scented flowers composed of white spatulate perianth segments and a yellow-green corona from May/July off and on through to September.
It really is quite astonishing the amount of scent that these tiny flowers produce.
We keep ours in a pot for close viewing often bringing one into the house to scent the room if we have visitors or feel indulgent.
Winter dormant. [8"] 20cm
