Tulbaghia violacea Lowan

Opening in succession, rich pink-purple segments with a central golden line. In contrast the fleshy corona is yellow tipped dark-brown changing to reddish-orange as the flower matures. In flower May-October, the 11-14 flowered umbel is held on tall 68 cm. stems. Sterile. The only information passed on to me is that it was bred by a gentleman in Scotland as part of a series developed for studying genetics in schools. [If the gentleman in question would like to be accredited here please feel free to let me know so that I can pass it on.] Named in 2007 by Norman & Sally Cummins to celebrate the birth of their first grandchild.
